How to Watch The Classes & Why TaiChiClass.org is The Best Way to Learn Tai Chi

The most natural way to learn using TaiChiClass.org is to play each lesson on your laptop or desktop computer. We deliver the course to you on the internet and that shows up easiest right on your computer.

Your laptop is also portable so you can easily move it around to the best place where you have the most space to learn and practice your Sun Style Tai Chi.

Some people will want to use a larger screen. Sure a whole lot of people watch videos on their phones – a concept that boggles my mind but I see my grandchildren doing all the time – but that’s not practical if you’re trying to learn Tai Chi moves. For that, it can be very helpful to see me teach in ‘life size’.

You can get that by taking the lessons on your big screen TV.
What I do is simply connect my laptop via HDMI cable. Sometimes I’ll unplug the cable running to my DVD player and put it into the laptop HDMI port. Sometimes I’ll take an additional cable and plug it into one of the unused HDMI ports on the TV. If you choose this option I recommend plugging in an HDMI cable and leaving it available for your laptop.

Once hard wired in you then right click your mouse and choose Display Settings. At Display left click Detect to make sure your computer recognizes your Television. This has always worked for me whether I’m home, visiting friends or at hotels while travelling.
Scroll down to Multiple Displays. It will work either with Extend these displays or Duplicate these displays.

That is simply the simplest and most reliable way to get Tai Chi Class onto a big screen.

If the hard wire option doesn’t work and you still want to use your TV for your class then there are other options. This is the technological age, so of course there are lots of options; options to boggle the mind and take you far outside yourself. It’s almost the opposite of what we’re trying to accomplish by learning Tai Chi. But everything works in balance so sometimes you have to go outside yourself to take a deeper journey into yourself.

It’s in this spirit that I offer these additional ways to watch:

Smart TV or DVD player:
Use the internet browser on your Smart TV or your Wi Fi connected DVD player. In my experience, this is a little frustrating. The remote controls for many of the devices I have tried just can’t easily navigate through web pages. But, my experience is quite limited. If your remote control cooperates then this method could be for you.
Choose your internet browser. Type in taichiclass.org. Log in and enjoy your lesson. Be sure to bookmark the site as a favorite to make it easier to take your next lesson.

If you have a Smart TV then you’ll simply follow your TV’s guide for accessing the internet and navigate to our website to watch our classes.
If you have an older TV there are options for adding internet capability to your TV so you can stream our classes on the larger TV screen.

Chromecast:
This device from Google allows you to use your Android smartphone or tablet to stream video to your TV. Chromecast allows you to “cast” video content from your device to your TV, so you just start a class video on the mobile browser and it shows up on the larger TV screen.

Apple TV:
This streaming box from Apple allows you to view content from any Apple device on your TV. This might be a good choice if you already have an Apple device. You can stream web videos from your mobile browser on your iOS device (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) to an Apple TV via the AirPlay feature.

Amazon Fire TV Stick:
This simple device from Amazon plugs directly into your TV’s HDMI port. Amazon’s Silk browser will allow you to stream video from our website to your TV.

Playstation 4:
This very popular gaming console has a full web browser that you can use to stream our website to your TV.
